Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade is Coming to Maidstone!

News — Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade is Coming to Maidstone!

Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade will be taking place in Maidstone this summer to celebrate the Heart of Kent Hospice’s 30th Anniversary.

In March 2020 the Heart of Kent Hospice had to take the decision to postpone the Parade due to COVID, but we are very pleased that it is now scheduled to run in Maidstone for nine weeks from Saturday 19th June until Sunday 22nd August.

With a blaze of colour and creativity, Elmer and his friends will bring a ton of fun and laughter to our local area. After what has been a difficult year for everyone, this Parade is a chance for the whole community to come together to recover, heal and have some fun! This free outdoor walking trail will provide a much-needed boost to everyone’s wellbeing and the local economy.

Fremlin Walk will be one of the local destinations to home one of the most iconic, popular and colourful children’s book characters of all time, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.

The elephant is an iconic symbol seeped in history for Fremlin Walk. Previously known as Fremlin’s Brewery, the old Centre logo featured an Elephant stood on top of a coat of arms. The Elephant still features at Fremlin Walk on the gold weathervane, positioned on top of the management offices.

We are very proud to be sponsoring such a great event, so be sure to keep an eye out for Elmer in and around Fremlin Walk and Maidstone this summer!
