SPECIAL GUESTS LAUNCH CHRISTMAS AT FREMLIN WALK
13 November 2008
Huskies, reindeer and a grand Christmas procession drew thousands of shoppers to Fremlin Walk on Thursday (13 November) as the centre launched into the festive season.
Arriving by reindeer-drawn sleigh, Father Christmas and the delightful animals were joined by a parade of characters including toy soldiers, Christmas trees, naughty elves – who entertained shoppers with their cheeky antics - and the cast of the Hazlitt Theatre's pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
Maidstone Choral Union and swing musician Billy Miller performed carols and favourite Christmas songs as free mince pies, mulled wine and Christmas ale added to the festive flavour of the event. Retailers joined in the celebrations with special store promotions and Fremlin Walk unveiled its fantastic Win A £1,000 Shopping Spree draw. (Entry forms are available from stores and can be deposited at House of Fraser until December 31).
Lloyd Wright, Fremlin Walk centre manager, said: "Fremlin Walk always embraces the festive season in style and this year the huskies and reindeer were a wonderful attraction and hugely popular.
We look forward to continuing this atmosphere in the coming weeks as our stores open longer to help shoppers prepare for this hectic, but enjoyable time of year."
